They have the following features:

  • very low consumption of system resources;

  • itself learns on the players actions;
  • react to sounds (steps, shooting);
  • can be treated from chargers armor \ weapons;
  • can chat (from a pre-defined message lists) and respond to his nickname in the chat.

Parabot - the simplest boats. Perfect for those who do not have a powerful computer or do not want to mess around with the settings. Bots are working on a "set and play," initially no adjustment is necessary. And if you want to still adjust bots, there are a lot of settings, down to the individual settings of each bot, such as:

  • bot nickname;
  • accuracy;
  • vigilance;
  • Activity in the chat.

Setting:
Unpack the archive into the game folder, there, where there is hl.exe file. That's all - you can immediately start the game and play. Bots learn from the actions of the players, so the first on the new map they are pretty stupid, but after playing for about 10 minutes, they are already well "are comfortable" and will run everywhere. The longer the game on a specific map, the smarter it will be bots.

Setting:
As already mentioned, the bots are configured rather thin. The configuration files are in the folder \ Parabot \ valve root directory of the game and are represented by two files: Characters.cfg and Parabot.cfg.

The settings file stores Characters.cfg bots nicknames and their individual settings.
Parabot.cfg settings file contains general settings for all bots, and server settings. There are also files * .pcf and * .pnf in the folder \ Parabot \ NavigationFiles, having gained experience playing bots on the cards. With some cards, these files are already included in the package. These files do not need to touch it at all - they are updated automatically.

Parabot.cfg configuration file.
It preserves the common settings of all bots and servers. The file contains the following configuration line:

Server mode = On
Valid values are: On, Off
Parameter comprising (by value On) the visibility of the real server. Bots will occasionally leave the game, and new ones will join her. Default is off.

Valid values are numbers from 1 to 10
The parameter that defines the "professionalism" bot - determines the minimum accuracy with which the bots will shoot in a game: 1 - beginners, 10 - snipers. Warning: setting overrides individual settings hit each bot, that is, if the robot is configured on the accuracy of "2", and is "5" in this parameter, then the bot will shoot with neatness "5" instead of "2".

MaxAimSkill = 10
Valid values are numbers from 1 to 10
Similar to the previous option, only determines the maximum accuracy. Also has a value from 1 to 10, and just override individual settings hit each bot, that is, if the robot is configured to accuracy "9", and is "7" in this parameter, then the bot will shoot with neatness, "7", and not a "9".

Characters.cfg configuration file.

This file contains the individual settings of all bots in the game. Made in the form of tables of characteristics, each robot can be changed. Each line - it's one boat, with their individual settings.There are four: accuracy, aggression, alertness, activity in the chat.

Syntax lines:

"Nick bot", "robot model" <Accuracy> <Aggressiveness> <Vigilance> <Activity chatting>

Let us consider them in more detail:

"Nick bot" - a line parameter. Here you can enter the original bot nickname, always in double quotes. It may contain spaces. It is not recommended to use a very long (longer than 32 characters) nicknames, as they will still be cut off.

"Robot model" - a line parameter. Specifies an external view of the bot in the game. Here you can enter the model in the folder \ valve \ models \ player, always in double quotes.

<Accuracy> - numeric parameter. Valid values are numbers from 1 to 10. Defines the accuracy of the bot shots in the game. Bots will shoot in the game as the beginning (1) or as snipers (10).
Note: This option depends on the parameters and MinAimSkill MaxAimSkill Parabot.cfg file.

<Aggressiveness> - numeric parameter. Valid values are numbers from 1 to 10. Sets the bot's behavior in combat. If set to "1" bot is a passive, almost no attacking other bots / players, and at the setting "10" - will try to kill all who saw or heard.

<Vigilance> - numeric parameter. Valid values are numbers from 1 to 10. Sets the vision / hearing bot: If set to "1" the bot will not be enough to notice that around, and when setting "10" - will see everything and everyone, including players / bots at the other end of the map, or in various shelters.

<Activity chatting> - numeric parameter. Valid values are numbers from 1 to 10. This determines how often the boat will give cues to chat. If set to "1" boat will be virtually silent, and when the setting "10" - will "yammer".

All parameters need to write to a file line by line, and with the beginning of the line is "Nick bot", then it is desirable to deliver two indent button, followed by "Model bot", two <Accuracy> one <Aggressiveness> one <Vigilance > one <Activity chatting>. In the end - a line break.

You can create your bot, but the number of rows in the table should not exceed 128. Also in this file should contain at least one entry (one boat).

string Example:

<code class="undefined" style="display: block; padding: 0.5em; background: rgb(249, 250, 250); border: 1px solid rgb(220, 231, 231); overflow: auto;">«CoolBotPro“ "scientist» 9 7 5 1</code>

Control of the game bots

To control these bots directly in the game there are a few console commands, but the most versatile
- It botmenu team. It displays a menu, which is available in most of the above commands and settings. On the menu you can
navigate using the number keys on the keyboard. When the menu is displayed on the screen, all the boats stop.
It is also one of the most popular teams - addbot. It is used to add a bot to the server. Boat randomly selected from Sharacters.cfg file. And in order to remove the bot from the server using a known command of the game - kick. Syntax her this: kick <bot nick>, for example,

kick CoolBotPro

WARNING: Installation of these bots may lose the opportunity to play in Single Player Half-life. If this happens, return to this option, you need to remove the bot, delete or rename the file \ valve \ addons \ metamod \ dlls \ parabot_mm.dll in the game folder.
