This is a complete remake of my Odanan’s Quake mod from the last century, in celebration of the 20 years of Quake.


The objective is to update Quake for the modern players. Monsters are smarter and more unpredictable; weapons were improved with more flavor and balance, but without losing their identity.


This mod is compatible with any custom map made for vanilla Quake.


THE GUNS:


1- Ax: additional 1-10 random damage, 30% chance of killing zombies in one blow.


2- Shotgun: higher damage, lower rate of fire, new sound. Sounds good, feels good.


3- Double-Barreled Shotgun: higher damage, lower rate of fire, new sound. A very close shot can gib zombies.


4- Nailgun: slightly higher damage, higher rate of fire.


5- Super Nailgun: higher speed, higher damage. Can pass through enemies.


6- Grenade Launcher: slower rate of fire, slightly higher speed. Grenades can be detonated with right mouse button (like pipe bombs).


7- Rocket Launcher: slower rate of fire, accelerates while flying. Rockets can be loaded and fired together (up to 3 rockets).


8- Lightning Gun: less damage, but consumes half the ammo.


9- Plasma Gun: very powerful. Eats cells quickly. Small chance to appear in the place of the Pentagram of Protection.

My mods:
- Tweaked rate of fire of most weapons.
- Tweaked duration of powerups.
- Shotgun pellets and nails do more damage.
- Grenade Launcher: shoots farther, uses rocket model for projectiles and can be remotely detonated with the right mouse bottom.
- Environment suit now should protect against Lightning Gun attacks.
- Zombies can be killed while prone.
- Fish become intangible as soon as they die.
- Ogres have a 50% chance of dropping 3 live grenades when dying.
- Shalraths have now a melee attack.
- There is a small chance of Hell Knight appear in the place of a Death Knight. Hell Knights have more health and a special magic attack.
- Ax will do a small additional random damage and has 30% chance to gib zombies.
- Fixed nail position when firing Nailgun.

- to make it possible to use the rocket launcher if ammo is 0 but there are loaded rockets inside the gun.
- to transform the Super Nail Gun into a proper Railgun (with automatic scope).
- to add a selection of custom maps edited into an episode.
- to add a package of selected HD skins.
- to add random unique monsters.
- to add CTF and other multiplayer improvements.
- to improve the co-op mode.
